Martina Hingis to Tennis Hall of Fame

Datum
06 March 2013

A former World No.1 both in singles and doubles, Martina Hingis (EZONE Xi, POLYTOUR PRO125) who has won 15 career titles in Grand Slam tournaments, has been elected to receive the enshrinement in the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

In 1994, Martina and YONEX made the first contract when she was 14 years old. As people said she was “Genius”, Martina won Wimbledon doubles at 15 years of age in 1995, and the following year, she won the Grand Slam singles title at Australian Open. At the same time, she became the youngest player to achieve World No.1 ranking at 16 years 6 months.

"Being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame is tremendous honor," Martina said. "It is truly a privilege to be part of such an exclusive group of tennis icons.

I am looking forward to the enshrinement weekend in Newport and to being welcomed in by the other Hall of Famers."
